YOU CAN’T PLAY BALL IN A SKIRT!
Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Baseball Heritage Museum.
Anne McEvoy will portray Ohio’s ultimate baseball player, Alta Weiss, who put herself through medical school playing professional baseball on a MEN’S team in the early 1900s! Alta is only one of two remarkable sportswomen from tiny Ragersville, Ohio. Lois Youngen (who was the niece of one of Alta’s teammates) became a catcher in the All American Girl’s Baseball League during World War II!
Join us for this fundraiser being presented by Eden Valley Enterprises (www.edenvalleyenterprises.org ) and Women Making Moves (http://www.womenmakingmoves.info/ ) find out why Alta said, “You can’t play ball in a skirt” and then went out and did it!
