Speaking for League Park Book Discussion: Ray Chapman and The Pitch That Killed
August 19 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Ray Chapman was one of League Park’s greatest stars and having one of his greatest seasons in 1920 when he was tragically killed by a pitched ball thrown by Carl Mays of the New York Yankees 97 years ago this August. Our August book discussion will look back at Chapman, Cleveland’s improbable path to its first World Series victory, and focus on the book The Pitch That Killed: Carl Mays, Ray Chapman and the pennant race of 1920 by Mike Sowell.
Copies available at local libraries. Or visit Macs Books on Coventry, mention the Museum and receive 20% off your copy. The discussion is free and open to the public, and is made possible, in part,by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture (CAC).
