Major League Baseball has some quirky stories that often go untold, but writer Chris Williams remedies that in his witty, thoughtful book “Stealing First,” which features a handful of anecdotes that Williams calls “old-time baseball stories.” Williams was a radio announcer for 35 years on various stations but left the business to pursue his love of dogs as a trainer and to spend more time with his prose. His was a wise decision when you read what he has compiled for the baseball fan who loves the small stories that go into making baseball what it is today.
