Is there more to Shoeless Joe than his fall from grace?

Outside of recent ballplayers who got caught up in the steroids scandal, no ballplayer in the history of the Major Leagues has been as controversial as Joe Jackson. Still fewer ballplayers were as good as Jackson was. He was a legitimate star, a star who fell from grace. But is there more to “Shoeless Joe” than a sullied legacy? Ask Dan Wallach, executive director of the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library in Greenville, South Carolina, and he will say: “Yes!” Wallach will make a case for Jackson’s induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., as he shares his thoughts on the former Indians outfielder during this episode of “Talking Baseball!”
